John’s the man

Kimberly Asman, IHF Board team member since 2018, is its engine and Vice-Chair. She is a seasoned non-profit volunteer and fundraiser and previously gained work experience in the corporate business world utilizing her economic and finance background. Additionally she provides the Board with executive assistant services. Kim is very family-oriented and brings that culture to the Board. Motivated by a love for all God’s people, she has a huge heart for those who are oppressed by poverty, and is passionate about providing financial literacy and entrepreneurial solutions to all ages residing in lower income-earning communities within Colombia. Kim, husband Kevin and their two young adult children, Nolan and Cailey, reside in Calgary, AB, Canada.

A linguist by training, had an earlier career in international education. She writes Christian non-fiction, focusing on praying through Biblical metaphors. She brings experience in intercessory prayer to the IHF Board. Formerly disabled, she has experienced God’s gracious healing. She and husband Paul have three sons, three granddaughters and are expecting a grandson soon. She resides near Toronto and in Arizona.

Graham Flaaten brings experience leading youth groups and his love of all-things financial to advising IHF on its programs for young entrepreneurs. He has developed a database and improved the website for IHF. As an outdoorsman with his own entrepreneurial streak, he has developed a tourism/hospitality business in Calgary in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains. Graham and his wife Danielle love children. His greatest passion, however, is to follow the footsteps of Jesus bringing God’s love to all he meets.
